James Sterling

Principal Solicitor

James Sterling is the Principal Solicitor of Sterling Law Group, having established the firm in Melbourne's CBD in 2005. With over 20 years of experience in private legal practice, James brings a wealth of knowledge across a broad range of commercial and property law matters.

James graduated from the University of Melbourne with degrees in Law and Commerce, providing him with both the legal expertise and commercial acumen to deliver practical, results-oriented advice to his clients.

James takes a direct, hands-on role in every client matter. Unlike larger firms where clients may be passed between junior staff, James provides principal-level attention to every case. This approach has earned him a loyal client base and a reputation for getting results.

James's practice spans commercial litigation, debt recovery and insolvency, property and conveyancing, finance and securities, wills and estate planning, and business law. He has successfully represented clients in matters before the Magistrates' Court, County Court, Supreme Court, VCAT, and the Federal Court of Australia.

Away from the office, James is an active member of the Law Institute of Victoria and is committed to providing accessible, high-quality legal services to businesses and individuals across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
